Everest Gokyo Lakes Trek
Overview

Everest Gokyo Lakes Trek is located on the eastern side of Kathmandu, in the Everest region of Nepal, at an altitude of 4,700–5,000 m. The Gokyo Lakes Trek journey begins with a helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. After landing in Lukla, we begin our initial trek. The ascending and descending stony routes, the grennery hills, the flat and narrow mountain paths, the fascinating devotional Buddhist shrines, the Himalayan glaciers, the moraines, the attractive dunes, and the valleys that are encircled by striking mountains are the top highlights of our trek.

There are many cairns in the distance that have been made by people who might have visited this trek to be witnesses. The tranquility across all areas offers the hidden fortune of the Himalayas. Which is a part of our beautiful life. The mesmerizing views of Mount Everest, Mount Makalu, Mount Lhotse, Mount Cho Oyu, and so on preserve the beauty of the mountains intact. The trek is supposed to be a pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhists. On the occasion of Jani Purnima, between the months of August and September, people take a bath and worship the Snake God.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, our officials will be there to receive you. We will directly transfer you to the hotel for check-in. Take a rest and freshen up. We will have a short briefing about the Nepal trip there. The remainder of the day, we wander around the thamel. The city of Thamel is the prime location of a vibrant business hub. Overnight in Kathmandu.

We wake up in the morning and have breakfast. We begin the day tour at UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu, such as the holy temple Pashupatinath, the beautified Swayambhunath Stupa, and the Boudhanath Stupa. These destinations are the top picks of travelers. We ended the day tour and returned to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

We wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and take the 35-minute domestic flight. We reach our destination by leaving the hills one by one, passing dense forests above the hills and white clouds, and within a few minutes of our landing in Lukla, we get the chance to capture the Himalayan vistas. From Lukla, we hire our supportive sherpas as porters. It is the first section of our trek after entering Pasang Lamu Gate, including the upward and downward trails at the top of the Grannery Hills, covering the ritual Buddhist assets, and crossing the Dudh Koshi River and a few suspension bridges, which leads to our destination, Phakding Village. Overnight in Phakding.

It is the second day of our early morning wake-up, and we take our favorite breakfast, which is available there in Phakding Village. We follow the straight-forward routes going down and up trails by the side of the continuously flowing Dudh Kosh River. There are many small to large, safe bridges that our way goes through and continuously takes higher alltitudes. This is the most beautiful time for our trek up to Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

As part of our routine, we wake up early in the morning, be fresh, and stretch our legs to do some hiking. We ascend the hike to the Everest View Hotel to see excellent views of Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Ama Dablam, and other peaks situated in the Everest region. Next, we go to explore the flora and fauna by visiting Sagarmatha National Park. The park is famous for being the center for red pandas, Himalayan tahr, musk deer, rock doves, Himalayan Kalij pheasants, and so on. After visiting the National Park, we descend to Namche Bazaar. Exploring Namche Bazaar, we visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and the Everest Documentation Center. The museum covers all mountaineering activities and the lifestyle of historical Sherpa communities. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Today, the trek commences after breakfast, ascending through easy soil-stone routes. As we go further down and up the trek, we might have a chance to see red pandas, musk deer, pheasants, and many more. Then go ahead by watching amazing scenic waterfalls flowing from the top of hills, crossing wodden small bridges, and entering foresty tunnels. This is a relatively beautiful trekking experience. Taking a rest on the hilltop, from where we cover Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Khumbila, and so on. Overnight in Dole.

In the section of your trek that goes from rough soil to sandy routes, it passes quite easily, which assists our journey in further advancing to close views of snow-capped ridges, including Cho Oyuz Mountain, Mt. Thamserku, and so on. The walk to the barren top hills with fewer scrub junipers will be on ascending and decending trails all over the mountain views. This is the last village before reaching the Gokyo Valley. Overnight in Machhermo.

It is our exciting trail day to Gokyo Lakes. We steadily ascent past the yak pastures, most of the midow's hilly top areas, and the way on the side of the Dudh Koshi River, crossing a unique style of wooden bridge hanging praying flags. We reach the first lake in Gokya Valley, which is located at the edge of the beautiful snowcapped mountain peaks, with the flowing blue-turquoise water offering enough space for our route. We follow the most eye-catching third Gokyo Lake and stay our night there on the edge of the lake. Overnight in Gokyo Lakes.

Today is our day to reach the 4th and 5th Gokyo lakes that are located in the snow-capped valley behind the iconic mountains of Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalua, and so on. We commence our trek to Gokyo Ri. From the top, we observe the Ngozumpa glaciers (the biggest glacier in the world), Mount Lhotse, Mount Makulu, and many towering peaks, but one thing always stands out: the cairns around the Gokyo valley in different directions. We also make or add pieces of stone to be witnesses. We walk further to view the 4th and 5th lakes from the northern part of Gokyo Valley. From there, we see Mount Everest, Mount Cho Oyu, Mount Gyachung Kang, and other snow-capped cliffs. Gokyo Lakes Treks are seen as symbols of holy places for Hindus and Buddhists. On the day of Janai Purnima, in August of every year, people take baths and worship the Snake God. Overnight in Gokyo Lakes.

In the morning, after having breakfast, we walk to Dhole village. The downhill walk goes alongside the Dudh Koshi River. As we move through the flat green trails, we see different types of mountain flora, which is amazing. Overnight in Dole.

The section of the trek is going to follow a downward route, leaving behind the charming mountains covered by white clouds. The scenario seems like they are still calling us on. Next, we pass sloppy green hills rich in flora and fauna that lead to Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

We wake up in the morning and have breakfast. We begin the trek. The steep downward trek moves ahead by crossing the endlessly flowing Dudh Koshi river. The Buddhist shrines on the sides of our walks and the colorful ritual flags continuously flow in harmony with the breeze. Finally brought us to Lukla. Overnight in Lukla.

We finished our trek here and said good-bye to the beautiful Himalayans in a slightly sad mood. A morning domestic flight of 35 minutes lands us at the airport. We take you to your hotel room for some refreshments, and you might share your experience with us in our office. We will have half a day of free time to spend in Kathmandu. We will do some shopping in Thamel, then go for an evening walk to participate in cultural programs. This is the end of our day. Overnight in Kathmandu.

This is our day to say good-bye to you before you take off on your flight from Tribhuvan International Airport to your sweet home. We drop you off there before 3 hours of your scheduled flight. We hope you enjoyed lots of it during your Nepal visit.
