Trek Itinerary for Khaptad National Park

Day 1: Flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi, Drive to Silgadhi (1,340m / 4,396 ft)

Morning flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi (approx. 1 hour).

Drive from Dhangadhi to Silgadhi, the gateway to Khaptad National Park (approx. 8-10 hours).

Overnight stay in Silgadhi.

Day 2: Trek from Silgadhi to Jhigrana (2,300m / 7,545 ft)

Begin the trek with a steady ascent through lush forests and traditional villages.

Enjoy views of surrounding hills and interact with locals along the way.

Reach Jhigrana, the first checkpoint for entering Khaptad National Park.

Trekking time: 5-6 hours.

Day 3: Trek from Jhigrana to Khaptad National Park (3,100m / 10,170 ft)

Enter Khaptad National Park, following trails through dense rhododendron, oak, and pine forests.

Spot various birds, animals, and flora unique to this region.

Arrive at Khaptad Camp, where you can explore the lush meadows (patans) and scenic landscapes.

Day 4: Explore Khaptad National Park

Spend the day exploring the natural and cultural sites within the park.

Visit Khaptad Baba Ashram, a spiritual site dedicated to the sage Khaptad Baba, who meditated here.

Explore Triveni Temple and other religious sites, making it a sacred place for Hindu pilgrims.

Discover Khaptad Daha (Lake) and various meadows and viewpoints, which offer panoramic views of the Api and Saipal Himalayan ranges.

Day 5: Trek from Khaptad to Jhigrana

Retrace your steps back to Jhigrana through the beautiful forested trails.

Day 6: Trek from Jhigrana to Silgadhi

Continue descending towards Silgadhi, taking in the landscapes and villages along the way.

Day 7: Drive from Silgadhi to Dhangadhi, Flight to Kathmandu
