The Langtang Region Trek is the closest trekking route from Kathmandu, and yet it is less frequent visited than Everest Region and Annapurna Region It has vast varied landscapes; including rice terraces field, gigantic rhododendron trees and pine forests, along with magnificent views of Langshisha Ri (6,310m), Langtang Lirung (7,246m) and Yala Peak (5,500m).
It also provide the insight in to the varied ethic lifestyles of the Sherpas and Tamangs inhabitants of this region. The route starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubensi, which is almost full day drive from Kathmandu via Trisuli.
The passes through thick forest of blue pine,oaks,mapple, rhododendron. The trail follows the Langtang Khola (Small stream) bank till Kyanging Gompa, there are various option for you to enjoy, such as climbing to the kyanging Ri (4773m) about two hour walk, and one hour down, it offers magnificent view of the surrounding mountains.

Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel (5-6 hours)
Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (4-5 hours)
Thulo Syabru to Dhunche (4-5 hours)
Drive back to Kathmandu ( about 6 hours drive)
